Message from the
Board...
Welcome to our home! The Community Council on the
Performing Arts (CCPA) is now into its fifth season in the Fox Playhouse
and its thirty-third season as committed theater and music lovers
dedicated to keeping the arts alive in Nevada, Missouri.
The
key word this year is progress. The Fox Playhouse was purchased in 2002.
To say it was a” fixer-upper” would have been an understatement. This
past year much has been accomplished:
- The completion of the
Jim and Barbara Labitska Green Room has provided our performers a
place to dress, change, apply makeup, use the bathroom, and
wait for their appearance on the stage.
- New air conditioners
ensure that no longer will audience members have to ward off the
heat of the summer using their programs as fans.
- Improved communications!
The CCPA website has been revamped and now provides readers with
current news that is updated regularly. Our mailing list has
skyrocketed, resulting in hundreds of patrons receiving fliers
announcing upcoming events.
Stay
tuned! This year we have laid out a plan to achieve financial security
by setting up a repayment schedule for our mortgage. In addition, there
are still many cosmetic needs to be met – seats to reupholster, carpet
to lay, concession area improvements, expansion of our music library and
so on.
On
behalf of CCPA, we are grateful for our show sponsors, our advertisers,
our patrons, our actors, our directors and our stage/tech crews. With
generous financial support and people willing to give of their time and
talent, we have what it takes to carry on. I urge you to look closely at
the individual contributors, show sponsors and advertisers listed in
this website and the show programs and then let them know you are glad
they support our efforts. We, in turn, pledge to continue what our
predecessors began over thirty years ago—to produce quality
entertainment and provide our patrons with a well-balanced theatrical
experience for years to come.
On with the show! Your
