The Community Council on the Performing Arts...

CCPA was established in Nevada, Missouri, in 1973.  Since that time, the CCPA has provided over 200 amateur productions for the benefit of the residents in Nevada, Vernon County, and the surrounding area.  The CCPA has touched hundreds of lives in our area through our audiences, workers behind the scenes, or performers on stage.  Our organization takes a leading role in providing artistic opportunities and experiences for the general public and also provides the youth in our local school districts with specialized programming.  Read Grizzabella Fox's Arts Blog for random thoughts, pictures and reviews.

Since 1973 the Community Council on the Performing Arts has strived to maintain the highest quality productions for our loyal patrons.  The Fox Playhouse is the only venue CCPA uses for its performances, and, in order to help offset expenses for maintenance, royalties and utilities, sponsorships are vital.  Please take a few minutes to consider an ad or sponsorship and email us at main@nevadamoccpa.org for more information.

Our Next Production:  Of Mice and Men

Of Mice and Men, based on the novel by John Steinbeck, will open February 23, 2012, at 8 pm, continue February 24 and 25 at 8 pm and conclude February 26 at 2 pm.  The play is directed by Alfred Fenske and sponsored by Hoffman Financial Resources.  This production is a reunion of the director and many of the performers who appeared some years ago in a previous staging for CCPA.  The cast includes Charlie Johnson, Kenny Jones, Brandi Beach, Mike Bessey, Lynn Ewing III, Alfred Fenske, Greg Kepler, Steve Reed, Jeff Tweten and Joe Zuzul, with stage manager March Garton.  This production is for mature audiences only and contains strong language and violence.  To learn more about this play, go to Information and Synopsis

CCPA has a proven track record of using funds wisely to run the business of Community Theater—still without increasing ticket prices. Please take an active role and send your contribution today. The CCPA Board sincerely thanks you for your continued support.  Group Rates Available For groups of 10 or more, a group discount of $1 per ticket is available.  This makes the single ticket price $5 per seat.  Group tickets should be reserved in advance by email at main@nevadamoccpa.org   We regret that reserved seating is not available at the Fox Playhouse.  Advanced purchase of single tickets is not available.  The theater is open for seat selection 30 minutes prior to the performance. Rent the Fox Playhouse Looking for a venue for your event?  The Fox Playhouse is available for rent, subject to availability, with rental fees dependent on the technical services provided by the CCPA and the type of group (for-profit vs. not-for-profit) wishing to use the Fox.  Contact us for more details at 417-549-6500 or main@nevadamoccpa.org     Give the gift of theater and concert tickets! Order gift certificates for single performances for any of our events by sending $6 per ticket and stamped self-addressed envelope to CCPA, P.O. Join Us!  Volunteers Needed!   CCPA would love to have your help with all aspects of our community theater operations.  Email us or use the Apply button in the left menu to tell us how you would like to be involved.  We encourage anyone in the community to come to auditions for acting, speaking, or singing parts. We also need lots of stage hands, set designers, sound technicians, and directors too!  And, staff help with taking tickets and concessions is always welcome.
